The Team at Leah’s Place knows about healing after trauma and how difficult it is to love through great pain. Complex trauma survivors can suffer for years after moving beyond abuse and exploitation, sometimes for the rest of their lives.
The fear that manifests from a lifetime of abuse and exploitation spills over into every other human connection and can cripple people with a lifelong aversion to intimacy of all kinds. This results in the human need for intimacy and love going unmet in the lives of survivors if action isn’t taken to rehabilitate the ability to bond without fear.
The Leah’s Place approach to nurturing intimate connections for our program participants includes a focus on animal therapy.
Leah’s Place Board Members Jess Levinson and Shelbi Ellis provide services to animals on a small scale, finding love, joy, hope, and healing through efforts to foster, socialize, and rehabilitate dogs, cats, and wildlife.
Supporting these endeavors and continuing to include them for our Leah’s Place residents is a primary goal that would benefit best from: Canned Wet Cat Food, Cat Litter, Purina One True Instinct Turkey and Venison Dog Food, Dog Treats, Tractor Supply Gift Cards
