My name is Jess Levinson and I want to welcome you personally to The Numbers. Each mark is a person whose life was changed forever by acts of sexual or interpersonal violence. Some of these marks represent my experiences with abuse and exploitation. These are otherwise the women and children that I have known, worked, and lived with in state run foster facilities, and both inside and outside of work in the legal and illegal U.S. sex trade. These are my friends, relatives, neighbors, and sometimes just men, women, and children that I have met that have been brave enough to lean close to me during a conversation and whisper “Something like that happened to me…”
