Our Vision
Our vision for Leah’s Place is a vision of a hopeful future for children born into dark places. Leah’s Place is a 501c3 nonprofit and is designed to provide a whole-istic intervention into the lives of mothers escaping generational cycles of abuse and exploitation.
Safe housing is the first need that survivors and their children present with when exiting an unsafe residence.
Leah’s Place plans to provide housing on a long term basis to women who are leaving abusive and exploitative situations while pregnant or parenting children under the age of five.
We at Leah’s Place believe that the bond between mother and child is sacred and worthy of promoting in our practices and our policies.
Leah’s Place aims to bring women to a place of healing that will allow them to parent their children in a spirit of grace and love.
We at Leah’s Place understand that the road to healing from complex trauma is often difficult to traverse, sometimes terrifying, and best traveled by those who aren’t making the journey alone.
Each family unit (mom and little/s) served will present unique requirements and Leah’s Place will aspire to create an individual healing and enrichment plan for each mother and each child.
Leah’s Place will be designed to include wrap around services including but not limited to: basic health and hygiene needs including dental care and repair work, mental health resources, spiritual health resources, dietary assessment and improvement, fitness resources, self defense training, relaxation training, animal companionship therapy, safe social outlets, mentor moms, primary and secondary education opportunities, and dignified work in therapeutic settings to assist our parent participants in gaining healthy financial freedom.
Leah’s Place plans to offer transitional services to program participant families that graduate from the Leah’s Place comfort home. Our vision for transitional services includes a community of survivors and small business owners collaborating to create a functional financial landscape that will allow them and their children to thrive and experience freedom from financial exploitation for generations to come.
